Do you think a portable gps would be a great gift or a gift for your friend incoming birthday? Of course it would be a great gift but how would you know if it is really a great kind of gift? Well, it always depend on the receiver if it is very useful to your friend, however, as we all know that a portable gps is very useful but you must also know if your friend will be using it frequently, let’s say every day or every weekly.

How would you know if your friend will be frequently using it? You can tell that if he love to travel by just simply asking him. You can still ask him even though you want to surprise him on his birthday. However, if he doesn’t love to travel you can still give him a gps but I don’t think that he will appreciate it that much. Well, you can still try though – as we all know there is no harm in trying depending on the situation you are in to.

GPS or Global Positioning system is the one of the greatest technology ever made in the century. This is a satellite navigation system made up of twenty-four satellites placed in orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. Though it is made for government purposes but later on in the 80′s civilians were allowed to use the system.

By this time GPS are used by vehicles in all areas in the United States. A very big help for people who get lost most of the time. I will definitely buy one when I will have a car of my own. Though I am not a hiker but I will recommend this to my friends who do love to go to mountains. So that all of us can save our time and less worries to destinations we are not so familiar with. Just be aware of any imitations to this since there are more and more people these days who are so genius enough to make like one and sells in a cheaper price. Be sure you will buy it from a known manufacturer and produces good quality.

And just like what we have seen in t.v. shows where some GPS are used for bad purpose where others could gain access to it. I hope it is not real and just all for the show.
